Terms of Use

Effective 12 October 2026

These terms apply when you use the Flightkeep pilot logbook app and the flightkeep.com.au website ("Flightkeep", "we", "us"). By downloading or using Flightkeep, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our privacy policy.

In short: Flightkeep helps you keep your logbook, but you remain responsible for your official records and for meeting CASA requirements. Your data is yours. Purchases and subscriptions are handled by the App Store or Google Play, and you can cancel Flightkeep Cloud at any time.

1. The app licence

Flightkeep is licensed to you, not sold. If you got Flightkeep from the Apple App Store, the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your licence. If you got it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service apply. These terms add the details that are specific to Flightkeep. If there's a conflict, the app store's licence applies to the licence itself, and these terms apply to everything else.

You may use Flightkeep for your own personal logbook record keeping, including as part of your flying career or employment.

2. Your account

Flightkeep uses your Google account to sign you in and to store your backups, certifications and exports in your own Google Drive. You're responsible for keeping your phone and Google account secure. Your use of Google services is also subject to Google's Terms of Service.

3. Your logbook is your responsibility

Flightkeep is a tool to help you record flights and keep track of your hours. It is not an official record keeping system approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) or any other authority, and using it doesn't by itself mean your logbook meets the requirements that apply to you.

4. Your data

Your logbook belongs to you. It's stored on your phone and, if you use Flightkeep Cloud, backed up to a private folder in your own Google Drive. Flightkeep has no servers holding your flights. Our privacy policy explains exactly how your information is handled and how to delete it.

If you don't use Flightkeep Cloud, your logbook is only stored on your phone. If your phone is lost, damaged or reset, flights that haven't been backed up or exported can't be recovered.

5. Purchases and Flightkeep Cloud

The app

Flightkeep is a one-off purchase, currently A$19.99 in Australia. The price in your country is shown on the App Store or Google Play before you buy.

6. Using Flightkeep properly

Please don't misuse Flightkeep. For example, don't use it to create false or misleading flight records or certifications, try to break or bypass its security, copy or reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or use it in a way that breaks the law or anyone else's rights.

7. Our intellectual property

The Flightkeep app, website, name, logo and designs belong to us. These terms don't give you any rights to them beyond using Flightkeep as described here.

8. Changes and availability

We work to keep Flightkeep reliable and up to date, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Flightkeep relies on services we don't control, such as Google Drive, Google Sheets, the App Store and Google Play. We may update, improve or change features over time. If we ever stop offering Flightkeep Cloud, we'll give you reasonable notice and you'll keep access to your existing backups in your Google Drive.

9. Australian Consumer Law

Flightkeep comes with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't lawfully be excluded.

10. Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, and apart from the rights described in section 9:

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the effective date above, and tell you in the app or release notes about significant changes. If you keep using Flightkeep after a change, the updated terms apply.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws in force in Victoria, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the federal courts of Australia. If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away any right you have to bring a claim in your own state or territory.
